Description
This description of the house was given by a previous owner, Dorothea Pickard, in her book "Call Me Sam."
"...the instant I saw it, I visualized a wonderful life there for a family with children. There were seven bedrooms and two baths upstairs, a big spacious reception hall
where we entered on the first floor, and four rooms opening off of it: two living rooms, a dining room, and a library with built-in bookcases. And beyond all this were a butler's pantry, a big bright kitchen, and another complete bathroom. And there was more to come, I found, as we explored the basement and attic. The basement was huge and divided into rooms, also, though not finished for living. But the attic was the final crowning glory. Not just one attic, I discovered, but two! The expected attic had three finished rooms besides a big open area, and the second attic was entered through a
trap door by a ladder. My imagination ran riot. What a place for children!"
